ok, so I've actually decided that I want to get Marine hermies. (woot) but now I have a few questions....

I have a 10 gal FW tank that is already cycled, is there any way I can convert this over to SW without draining and starting over?

We're between making a 100% invert tank, and doing a nano tank....but if we stick with just inverts, how many hermits would be comfortable here?

Is 1.023 the correct salinity for MHC?
Can they be kept (safely) with starfish?
Any other tankmates?

We have a 10 gallon HOB filter, would this be OK to use?

SUBSTRATE:
Is sand the proper substrate? or could I get away with gravel and still have healthy hermies? (which wouldn't surprize me if the answer is no)

That's it for now, if I think of anything else, I'll come ask again. ^^

you have to get new substrate and liverock, let it cycle and yes start over form scratch. go for a substrate that buffers calcium. normal fw pebbles wont be good for sw inverts at all.
