New set up but cloudy water?

Just set up my tank about a week ago waters great but its cloudy any reason why?

is it white cloudy? If so, it sounds like it's cycling/bacteria bloom. Leave it alone and it will be fine. You just set it up? Did you use bio-spira or anything like that to jumpstart the BB colony?

Agreed.... leave it alone, for it is "cycling". It will take care of itself.

nope no special bacteria setups just water and 2 filters with usual media

i wouldn't. go get some cheap/hardy fish that you wouldn't mind keeping in case they survive the ammonia/nitrite spikes. Of course, if you're adding a jar later, the fish are probably doomed no matter what anyway LOL..

hahaha..i got my old severum in there its been about a week now..eating great and swimming great..what do you think?

go light on the food and give it at least 3-6 weeks to fully cycle...

I personally would add some sort of live bacteria product as well to boost the colony, but putting a jar in that with all the ammonia spikes and what not. Not the best choice, more like a small gamble if you ask me.

Test your water. If your ammonia and nitrites are 0 and you have a nitrate reading you're ok.

If you're showing nitrites or ammonia keep cycling.
post your water test results and we'll be able to give you better help.
