Finally i got some decent wood for my tank. Actually got it free from one of the local aquarium clubs here.

My tank used to look like this:

Now i toned down the lighting for ym clown knife and my gibbi. Theyve both been rather shy. Not too strange considering atleast the ck is nocturnal =p But still, its nice to see it out and about even during the day.

Going to try a plant eventually...any tips on what might survive the longest with oscars?

Try fake plants for an "O" tank..lol...Go to the lizard section of your pet/fish store...There you will find fake vines....At almost two and a half feet long these fake plants will add cover and contrast to the "O" tank....If really intrested in some live plants, try a Mother Amazon Plant...Plant her in a secured potting pot....Among the common cichlids, Oscars and the infamous Red Devil are known for digging and playing with the substrate......

Reptiles are illegal in norway, so we dont have a reptile section. But vines could be nifty.
And i figured i would attach the plants to the driftwood, that way it wouldnt be able to be digged up, and it would eventually grow itself to the wood.

Never been a fan of fake plants, they look...fake =D

Vey nice your tank fayfay
Like u im a lover Oscar too
Why u dont try Giant Anubias, this plant is very resistent and is very nice for big fishis who daest live very well with plants
Congratilations for the tank

Obs: I dont know if u can find this plant in Scandinavia, but here in Brasil is very comon
Look a Anubia pic
