Im soon going to be the owner of 2 bamboo sharks and a stingray... i would like some info of what u guys think... tank size... set up... everything i need... This will be my personal first saltwater Aquarium... but i have worked with them before.. I have taken care of both a reef system and a limestone aquarium... i know this is going to cost a lot but i will have the money for it... i am doing an experiment with sharks for my schooling but i plan on keeping them after so any help you guys can give me i will be highly grateful for thanks

Sounds Like a Bad Idea To Keep Them.. I Doubt U Can House The Fully Grown Bamboo.. Its Gonna Cost.. U would probably need at least a 10,000 gallons to keep it.. Otherwise.. i would suggest u drop the idea..

The fully grown bamboo shark only need a 250g. I have no idea were you are getting your info from.? lol
How Long Would u Survive In a 8x4..?? :D

hmmm... alright thanks... can u think of a species of shark that i would be able to use.... if not i was already thinking about changing to octopi... (octopuses) not sure what the plural is anymore haha

I wouldn't worry so much about water volume as much as the foot print of the tank. Even benthic sharks need swimming space. Bamboos (in relation to many sharks) are fairly easy to care for and a great shark to start with. They are easy to get ahold of, are fairly hardy, reproduce in captive settings and are very stable for long term observation.

10,000 gallons - you'd lose your shark. 250 gallons might be a bit tight (depending on tank shape). There are a couple threads that give some great basic bamboo info in the Shark/Ray section.

well so far im gonna go with what zoodiver says he seems to have his head on his shoulders... i mean really 10,000 gals? im not living in monterey bay aquarium... haha and ya 250 sounded a lil more reasonable to me

Do like an at least 600 gallon for 2 bamboos and a ray.
