The Shark/Ray section is a subsection in the MARINE area. We're a small group, but you'll find some VERY knowledgable keepers here.

What kind of research are you doing? USF??

actually im still in high school im going to be testing low frequency sonars effects on sharks ampullae of lorenzini.... the navy has been beaching whales with there high frequency and is switching to low with out testing it so im trying small scale with sharks

You'll find sharks respond/react to low freq sound waves fairly quickly. It's one of the reasons sharks seem to target swimmers. The splashing is low frequency sound.
If you're looking for some related studies check out some of the stuff Dr. Sam Greuber has done over in Bimini. Pretty good stuff.

And back to your original question, a 600 gallon round pool that wasn't too deep would be perfect for a few bamboo sharks and a couple of smaller rays.

What im trying to find out though is if it is hurting them in anyway... a person swimming or a fish flopping isnt a big sound... now think about a navy submarine putting out a low frequency wave.... its gonna effect them alot differently.... im still trying to figure out something that will put out that wave

are you putting the sound underwater? i know a site where you can get TONS of sounds and one of them is a Submarine... its like a car horn and a whale combined
