I got rid of the 2 peacock bass (which I traded for the second, lighter colored Florida gar). They were starting to get too big for the tank, and hogged most of the food. The nearly black Florida gar, which was my first, has put on a lot more weight since I got rid of them. The other one is quickly catching up.

It's possible I'm feeding too much, or just too often. I feed every day, either feeders, tilapia fillet, market shrimp, and/or freeze dried krill and pellets (only the new Florida is eating pellets at the moment though).

If you plan to get rid of some of them let me know. Hopefully you're able to ship to Canada.

You should check with Journeykc. He's who I got mine from, and he's getting all set up for proper shipping, with Oxygen, styrofoam, and everything. I'm most likely going to try to trade mine locally, rather than selling and shipping (don't want to steal his business).

journey is on top!! mine arrived yesterday healthy and good!!! nice to see ur gar doin good!!

Nice stuff, that goldfish vs gar p][c is good.

That gar is the smallest one I have, yet he routinely grabs the largest feeder I toss in :screwy:

Twice now he's had to spit them out because they were too big for him to swallow. But it usually takes him about 30 minutes of trying before he figures it out. It's pretty funny to watch him try to eat a feeder that is actually wider in diameter than he is. Sometimes I use a pair of feeding tong's to target feed him a couple of smaller feeders, just to make sure he does get some.

That first pic is good, sounds like the smallest one is an over-achiever. They all look great!

they look sick az
