Hes pretty neat! Wonder why hes out a lot now? Have you gotten him a new hide? My crested gecko has been out in broad daylight now with her cork tube, and my hognose did when she got a deeper aspen substrate. A better hide seems to de-stress them and make them feel safer outside and more secure inside.
Different species have different care requirements. Sometimes it go down to the subspecies having different care requirements. It depend on where they are from in the wild; each one is specialized to their environment.
Just to put things in perspective, there are almost 2,000 different species of geckos out there that we know about. Probably a few species are undiscovered.

I think he meant to ask how many species are avaliable... Theres probably 30-40 species avaliable to the average hobbyist. Not counting morphs of course. That would put it at at least 800...
Isn't there about 30-40 of just day geckos available? There is an awful lot of selection in the gecko world... you could say too much.
This gecko is very very cool the patterns on it are great. Like their body structure too.
