Where Palm Trees Grow
I just bought a new 4" Silver Datnoid yesterday to grow out into the 150g I'm getting and I had a few questions, I want 2 more Siamese Dat's to go with him and I want to know if they can be in the same tank together, And how long can they live in a 55g? And the last one is if they will get along with 6 Silver Dollars? Thanks guys.

STs? That is the Widebar and Im pretty sure you cant get small ones, and large ones are super pricey and rare...I have a 4"at with a 4"NTT (thinbar) and 4 3" ITs (indo) and dont have any aggression problems yet, but not sure how that will go in time. anyway good luck with them they are very addicting!

Oh and they grow VERY slow you wont have a problem in that sized tank for a long time

That's what I heard, And I've been wanting some Dat's for a very long time and never had the chance with my old stock and I walked into my LFS and saw two of these little guys for 20 each so I just picked up one since I wanted some Siamese and just one Widebar.

Yeah like I said widebar are pretty much impossible to get smaal so if you see someone advertising one that is small chances are they are wrong about it being an st..enjoy them

i have a silver and 2 NTT and they get along fine!

I have a thin bar dat that doubled its size in about two-and-one-half months. I don't get where people are saying that dats grow slowly. Somebody needs to tell my dat that. I was going to wait till my dat got big before I added a clown knife to the tank since I was concerned about the CK outgrowing and eating the dat. However, when I saw the growth rate of my thinbar dat, I added a CK to the tank last week. No problems. Maybe silver dats are slower growers, though. I don't know.

My thin bar dat is close to 5 inches now. I bought it at maybe 2.5 inches back in late May/early June. My fish is not a slow grower. I feed it twice a day with one meal being thawed frozen krill and the second being earthworms. It gets a lot of food each feeding. The thing is a pig.
