Hey MFK! I picked up a new silver arro yesterday...he is about 8 inches from tip to tip. When I got him home I figured there might be a couple issues with the 2 oscars so I pulled the O's out and re arranged the tank and gave it a good cleaning while the new guy got acclimated. Turned him loose for a bit and then re-introduced the O's. When the O's were re introduced they immideately were curious, and they nipped at him a few times and he lost a couple scales :irked:. But the O's quit bothering him, so I figured I would see if he would take any food. No luck, im sure he is a bit stressed out with the move and then getting harassed by a pair of O's but at what point should I be worried about him not eating? Im going to try some blood worms and krill in a little while so we will see.

Crickets are really good for getting them to eat... should try that if other methods do not. Good luck. Put some stress coat, aquarium salt, and increase heat to 85 degrees F for faster healing.

my arow did the same thing. My O chased him around for the first couple days, then it slowed down and he just takes nips at him if he gets too close. I actually had a piece of floating driftwood in there which he found to be quite usefull as a little hideout at his level.
Eventually he starting eating just fine. He hated the pellets, but LOVED the Hikari floating sticks.

I would give him a while. As long as he looks healthy and seems active, he might just be too shy to eat. Maybe even up to 2 weeks.
(thats how long it took mine to finally eat)

When he gets hungry enough he will eat.

But you have to ensure that the O's arent harrassing him too much. If he's harrassed too much, he may starve.
As long as it doesnt escalate beyone what it is now, he'll probably be just fine.

thanks guys, yah I tried the frozen krill/bloodworm and he wasent interested. The O's arent nearly as interested in him as yesterday but they still give a little chase if he gets too close. They arent biteing him though, so hopefully in a few days everyone will be kosher. Any how here are a few pics, sorry the water is cloudy but I just cleaned my algae scrubber and it put a bunch of crap in the water.

Still a bit of a young 'un. I'd keep a close lookout for any signs of nips or missing scales on the aro. As Ang said, if those O's keep harassing it, it may get too stressed to eat and just starve itself.
