I just got 8 quarter sized silver dollars in my 20g. I was wondering what I can feed my silver dollars. i dropped a couple of sinking pellets but they just swim by it. Any suggestion would be thanked :D

bloodworms?

I dont' wanna Feed bloodworms because it'll make my water dirtier and i dont' wanna keep going out to buy frozen bloodworms. thanks though :D

My tank is a tall tank so im afraid that they wouldn't go to the top of the tank to get the food because they always hang out at the bottom corner of the tank, or maybe they're just new to the tank. thanks :D

If there huddling in the corner they are probably acclimating to the new tank. Do they swim around when you walk away? Mine like to huddle when im right up on the tank but are all over the place when i leave. They also have voracious appetites mine will eat anything they can get in their mouths flakes, shrimp, tilapia, bloodworms and alge wafers. Give them some time to settle in and they should be ok just make sure you give them food that they can fit in there mouths. If they cant get the pellets in there mouths they cant eat it id suggest flakes until they get alittle bigger.

8 Silver Dollars in a 'tall' 20 g tank isn't near enough surface/bottom space for them. Mine are just the plain old WalMart SD's and they were as big as the palm of my hand after 8-9 months.
Was the tank cycled before putting them in? (not just left to sit for a few days). If not that could be the problem aside from that's way too small of a tank for hyperactive SD's.

actually bloodworm is far lower in protein than most dry foods so will be much less like to pollute your water if any if left uneaten (which never happens lol) and yes 8 dollars in there is way too much, i have a few regular dollars in with some myleus and things and they are a few yrs old and are between 6-8" or so, large fish and a 20 gal is nowhere near big enough these are in a 5x2x2 tank which i think is a 150 us gal tank with just a few other bits as tankmates

as said before, that tank is too small for 8 SD's. However, for food, algae wafers will perfectly suffice!

Spirulina flakes and algae wafers are the way to go... mine also like the meaty flakes every once in a while, as well as glass worms (mosquito larva, frozen and thawed). In any case, Silver Dollars tend to be prone to freaking out and jumping, swimming into each other, and knocking into the sides of the tank. Mine have never suffered any real damage from this, but the fact still exists that a 20 gallon really isn't going to help the situation. Mine jump all over the place when it's feeding time (over some flakes... easy to amuse, I guess). They'd be much, much happier, and probably in less danger of really getting hurt, if they were in a larger tank. Not to mention, they eat a lot (stomachs with fins, you know) and so all of the other benefits of large tanks would apply here.
