Hey Guys,

Yesterday I finally go my sea clone 100 protein skimmer from pet solutions yesterday. I hooked it up to the tank, hang on style. Well I'm confused on 3 things.

1. Their is a little back top on the air hose connecting to the pump. If I tighten a little the water rushing into the skimmer is all white. If tighten it all the way the water rushing in is all clear. How tight should I tighten the cap?

2. When do I start seeing the build up of foam in the collection cup? Right it's just little clear bubbles.

2. Does it matter were it is placed? Mine is currently in the center of the tank, but I will place it in the corner when I do a water change so it will be easier to move the tank...lol

Thanks

I am gonna say all white.

You want it to be "White". That is the bubbles from the air coming in. Clear water means no bubbles.

It can take days to weeks to break the PS in. There also has to be something to skim.

I do not think it matters to much

Thanks, ok than it's has been running with the white water gushing in it for a day. Also it says that the cup needs to be changed every 3-4 days so I'm guessing just leave the collection cup until I notice the debris.

i had a seaclone on my fowlr. it took it about 2 weeks to start skimming good. the first 4-5 days it didnt pull nothing. After about a week it skimmed leaving like a green color water in the cup. But after a few weeks it started skimming dark. However with the seaclone, it can be tricky in adjusting it to skimm the way it was ment to. Most times it does need to be adjusted daily.
