New slate bottom tank- Where to buy chrome hood?

I just recently bought this 55 gallon slate bottom tank. I was wondering if anyone on here knows where i could buy one of those old chrome hoods for it. I'm having trouble finding them. Thanks

That tank is an antique. You probably will not find one ever. i don't think they were ever made. You may be better off buying a plastic black 55 hood and painting it chrome with a gloss white base.

Correction they were made in stainless steel. Good luck finding one.
 
thanks. I couldn't tell if they were chrome or stainless steal from the pictures i have seen.. Ive found a few smaller hoods but none for the size i'm looking for.
 
im jealous, i almost picked up that tank, but it was gone when i called. that thing is old school and i wanted it!
 
I'm sorry i didnt know anyone else was looking at it. Was it the one off craigslist in Westport? It was like 2 streets down from my house.
 
yeah its cold around here so no one is having them around this time haha, im just hopping someone has one on these forums and there willing to sell it, i will pay top dollar for one.
 
You will just have to keep checking the garage sales, craigslist, etc until one appears. It may also be a good idea to see if there is a local fish club in your area. Many clubs have auctions a couple times a year and it is a great time to find items like these.

I recently attended one near my home and was able to pick up two 10G, a 5G and some smaller original Metaframe hoods for a reasonable price. I've never seen them offered outside of a local fish club.
 
ill have to check out the clubs around here, i thought about getting one made but i was trying to keep everything original. Im sure one will show up sooner or later haha
