Put a new slate bottom on my Ray Tank. Still needs some tweaking here and there as
for as pattern design but....you get the idea.

hey its looks great. Only prob, (maybe) is it looks like some of the tile might be jetting up some in some of the corners where they meet other tile. Might get rough on the rays bellies?

The uneveness is because these are hand cut slates from roofing slate. They come in verying degrees of thickness
and no one piece is exactly the same. The edges sticking up are not sharp and shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the concern anyway.

Looking good Don! I got some 12" slate tile samples to try in my tank and they turned an ugly green and purple color when under water with the light on them. Yours kept the nice subtle gray look. I like it.

Thanks Michael,

Yep, they come in quite a few colors, greens, purple, purple marbled w/green, different grades of black, grays, red. And best of all its free.:D
Locally from stores I would have had to buy two boxes to do this and at minimum the cost would have been between 70-80 bucks.

That would probly be the only fish Id do that for
