Got a new snake. a 6' red tail boa. The guy who was giving him up had recently been in an accident and could no longer handle him because of size/wieght of the snake. I gave him my baby RTB to work with. He's hoping that as his physical condition gets better he'll be able to keep up with handling the snake.
I also spent the last 3 days rebuilding my multi-level enclosure, put in sliding doors instead of windows on hinges, made it to have a 3rd level divided into 3 smaller enclosures with the two 6'X2' enclosures for the bigger snakes. Still gotta finnish lining the interior wood with lenolium (I ran out, and it was 11:00 at night, so no trip to the hardware store.)

I don't mean to be a stickler on substrate, but what is that?

Hope fattens up for you, he needs it.

Good luck!

NICE! I would also like to know what the substrate is, I use news paper for my big snakes but that looks as though it is bigger and maybe more absorbent.

Looks like a healthy male Boa constrictor to me.

Are you using that indented craft paper? How well does it work and how cost-effective is it?

yeah if its male looks fine to me too, maybe due a feed but thats it lol. nice setups you have there! do the snakes mind not having a hide or are they generally fine without it? great work you done there.

Nice enclosures. I'm to lazy to build them, I use Pro-line cages (Made by Ed Lilley of constrictorsnw.com) and Boaphiles, If I need a really large cage for say a burm, or larger BCC I can get custom sizes from Pro-line. Pro-line cages are really awesome, and arent made of PVC, but a higher strength plastic.

ya im not particulat about you decoration cause i dont know much about snakes but that set up you built so they are all in one area and nice and neatly put together looks awesome...

For anyone who asked me earlier. the substrate is corrugated cardboard sheets. I buy it by a 250' X 2' roll for around $35 from a shipping supply store. IT WORKS AWESOME!! Holds together ALOT better than newspaper, is thicker and alot more absorbant... plus it looks better.
It was recomended to me by another snake keeper over a year ago and I haven't used anything else since.
