New snake

I'm still dragging my feet over the loss of my Ribbon Snake, but I figured the best way to forget is to fill the empty tank. I bought this little guy in Staten Island, he's about 10" long. I think he's either a Florida Blue or an Eastern Garter. He's pretty lively... he bit the store employee and jumped out of the deli cup and made a mad dash across the store. I can't wait to watch him grow. The store was feeding him Goldfish and crickets I'm gonna get him on chopped nightcrawlers ASAP.

They're great pets. Up there with Leopard Geckos as the most rewarding animals I have ever looked after. I love 'em and highly recommend them

it is an eastern Garter of some sort.

If it is I could have easily caught you a bunch. Found them constantly at my old house. Mainly see brown garters where I moved to. Either way they are cool snakes.
