Hey all. Just wanted to share and start a thread on my new south american tank Project I have going on now. All fish are still in juvenile stages but growing great and doing super well so far. I have an RO mix for the water to ensure that the gh, kh, and ph are close to what it is like in the wild for these fish.

Current stock list is as follows :
F1 Pterophyllum Scalare sp Rio Manacapuru Angelfish, F1 Altum Orinoco Angels from Simon Forkel, F1 Geophagus Sveni, Guianacara Sphenozona, L14 pleco, l190 Royal Pleco, and a Sailfin pleco. I have a group of Julii Corys in my hospital tank getting treated for any possible parasites before adding to this main show tank. Will also be adding a large group of cardinal tetras to top things off.

Hope you all enjoy!

Looks great! Love the set-up! You have some very nice driftwood pieces. I have some g. sveni as well. Enjoying them very much. :)

Awesome setup great job with the Aquascape also like your choice of the stock.

Looks great, love this kind of setup. I think if you do more floating plants or tall branch-like driftwood in the top/right of the tank it will fill it in more and the tank will look bigger. But it looks great as-is too

I was actually planning on doing that with adding some branchy pieces, floating plants, and some jungle Val on both sides. I wanted a somewhat open tank as well though but definitely want to add a nice manzanita piece in that corner.

I love it, an SA biotope is my favorite type of tank. You have a really neat stock list and nice scaping. I hope to make one that nice someday, interested to see how it matures.

Update on the tank. Now have some jingle Val’s added to the tank and a few more Orinoco Angels along with a beautiful LDA07 that you of course can’t see since it’s hiding. Fish seem to be doing great and are eating like pigs still. Enjoy

Looks good, what size tank? I really dig the little Guianacara. I regret selling the group of stergiosi I use to have.

Where did you get them from? Are you sure they are sphenozona?
