I have a new 55gal Central-South American tank I am stocking. Currently it has 2 Dempseys but that could change. Any thoughts on what would be a good line-up in there??

FM, con, blue acara, ebjd (my fav), severum, a school of clown loaches always add life to a tank. What fish did you have in mind?
I had in my 55:
1 Ebjd
1 Firemouth
1 green sev
1 Blue acara
5 clown loaches
All juvis (a growout for my 220) Stocking worked out amazing

for a 55G, I would keep 4 or 5 small-to-medium cichlids (under 6"), rather than a pair of JDs ...

so the stock above would be okay, but instead of the EBJD and the severum, I might go with a convict and a rainbow cichlid ...

and instead of 5 clown loaches -- which will get too big for 55G -- I'd go with 5 yo-yo loaches ...

and I would work in a bushynose pleco and/or bulldog plecos ...

I like the swap of the con and rainbow, both and medium sized and good looking. However it will take years for the clowns to outgrow the 55. The yo-yo's are a good idea too, its up to the OP I guess

u could do this
2 JD
1 blue acara
1 rainbow cichlid
1 firemouth
