New species: Geophagus mirabilis.

Geophagus sp. Aripuana formally described. The species is endemic to the rio Aripuana drainage upstream from Dardanelos/Andorinhas falls.

Its like a Jurupari with different markings and some red head trapajos fins....love it.

Looks beautiful, first thing I thought was the Leucosticta spotting and the fins of Tapajós.
I`m sure it will be available readily now that everyone has a new fish to rush for

like many people here I am still waiting on the Tapajós ID, I believe the two variants will probably end up being seperate species.

Yes, they've been available for some time. AAA Exotics (the owner of the photos linked above) has them on his list in Europe right now.

Are they getting $20 for 3/4" fish? Seems like a lot of money, but they sold out quickly the first go round.
