There is a thread in the General Aquarium section about a new stingray species. "Pan cake" rays were mentioned, of the genus Heliotrygon, and described in 2011. While poking around for info on them, I came across another species described last year as Potamotrygon limai. Any one heard of these? Seem similar to scobina.

Heliotrygon is NOT a new species. it is a new official name of China ray or Cooli ray (small eye rays). they are just now being give a new proper scientific name. they have been around for a long time and i have seen them for sale many time. they are just not popular because they a lurker type ray and because they get huge (4 feet in diameter)

Look amazing but likely awhile before we see them in an aquarium setting

Where the limai rays are found in Brazil, I doubt we will see them in the aquarium trade.
