Just got back from e_americanus' place with 3 of the spotted gars from his breeding/study project. They were kept in white bucket overnight, and a white cooler for transportation home. In the 10 or so minutes since this picture was taken they have already started darkening up, and are showing dark spots all over. I'll post some updated pics later tonight, or tomorrow. Thanks for looking! :D

Thanks a lot Solomon! Always enjoy conversation with you!

They have colored up quite a bit already, and seem to be getting comfortable. One of them actually hid under that ray for the first couple mins after he went in haha.

A couple pics the day after. Couldn't get good shots because the camera either let you adjust the shutter speed, or exposure, but not both in the same mode, so these had to be done with flash on, which washed out their colors a little bit.

nice man!! lucky man, i want one

Thanks a lot everyone! They look so much better in person than those pics. They put away almost 40 rosies between the 3 of them last night.

@ SPWD The rays leave the polys alone. It's the other way around if I miss a feeding though.

nice gars! i'm insanely jealous that you got to visit "the tank"!!!!!

Oh yeah! As soon as we got there I asked if I could go downstairs ;) The spotted x gator hybrid in the big tank he has just kept my attention the whole time! Such an awesome fish! My girlfriend was hypnotized by the SA Lungfish.
