Just received my new SRD from AquaBid this morning and im really happy about how it looks in person. For whatever reason not a lot of shops in southeastern Pa sell high quality flowerhorn so I decided to get one offline. I was tired of wasting money on lesser quality fish and wanted something nicer. There was a little scare when I opened the box and I noticed the bag leaked a little bit but everything turned out okay. It's by no means a $200-$250 fish but fit my budget perfectly and Kok size is great and hopefully will grow a little more. Here are some pictures of the fish it's a little stressed out hence why it's so dark. The fish was advertised at 4" but I would put him closer to a little over 5".

Nice FH! I tried selling on aquabid but with no shipping local pickup. I got way too emails telling me to ship but its winter here and a lot want it on the east coast and don't want to take the risk!

You have original pictures of him. Looks a little stressed out? Looking a little dark probably normal he made a journey through a service carrier...lol

He was $89.00 and then the seller charged $50 for overnight shipping which I thought was an absolute steal. So it came to $130. The seller was willing to ship him the day I bought him on Tuesday but due to my schedule I'm really busy Wednesday's so I didn't want to receive it that day. So instead he sent it Wednesday and I got it today. I bought the fish from Texas and he shipped it to PA. Luckily yesterday was warmer but the seller put hot picks inside the shipping box to keep it warm. The water temp was fine when I revived him. And here's the sellers picture of him

Nice thats a good price especially for being shipped! I usually would sell a SRD like that for 100 bucks and thats cheap compared to aquabid and other sellers.

Updated picture from today. Color is looking great have noticed he does get dark when I'm around the tank but when I'm not around the tank he reassembles the picture above. So far I've been feeding nls, bloodworms, and cichlid gold and the color is really showing. Also noticed slight Kok growth. Really happy with this fish

The people from thailand that sell such expensive fish use very high quality cameras and edit their pictures. They're the same fish but sometimes a little more exaggerated. I like the guy hes nice! Which Transshipper did you use? did you contact them or the seller on aquabid did it for you?

I actually got him from a guy in texas no transhipper needed nor was it from Thailand. I mean this fish isn't edited at all from what the guy posted its just for whatever reason when I get close to the tank he gets dark but when I'm sitting across the room he looks exactly like what the seller posted.

Some fish do this. Also depends what color shirt you're wearing. My fish can't be more happy to see me they splash water and go nuts. Even when I get up from the couch thats nearby they come up going back and forth fast. I think your fish is stressed it can take a while for him to adjust to you.
