I have been busy working on my 110 that was gifted to me for free by a co-worker, when I recieved the tank it was known to leak so I stripped it and resealed it then after static testing the tank had to start all over again. This time after I resealed the tank I looked it all over again including the stand it was sitting on. To my dismay I had discovered that the two length support bars on the stand (being a metal store stand) was not supporting the tank evenly across the whole tank front and back. There was a 1/8 - 1/4 inch sag to the whole stand, so I decided before filling a second time, to build my own stand. Thanks to my buddy Brett here I was able to go to his shop and build my stand for a meer $20.00 in material. Just a lesson learned! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT A 2X4 is not a true measurement of the wood. Atleast it wasn't for me, my stand was about an inch off width and length, easily remedied thanks to Bretts neibours. I will post pictures of it once I have it in the apartment here. The wife can't handle having anything cludder this place up at the moment so it will have to come in on the weekend when I can put it away properly. It was fun building it I am pretty proud of how it turned out. Saves me a crap load of money on a store bought stand that might look a little prettier but a whole lot more money. Gotta put the money back into the hobby!

That's the reason we put the styrofoam under the tanks. Good thing you found it, gave you an excuse to use power tools.:headbang2

Make sure you buy your buddy a six-pack of what he likes for the trouble...You may need him again. :D

Oh, did anyone else hear that whip cracking...

What no construction pix? Shame...Shame.

Hey I keep her happy, she keeps me happy. :naughty:

As it was suggested earlier maybe throw some styrofoam under the tank this way as the weight of the water builds any low spots on stand will be compensated by foam. Otherwise nice job on stand.:)

well I checked all around the tank and it is flush as flush can be on this stand. I am very very happy with the end result. I am not one to build bulky but its a very stable and i am very confedent in with the construction of the whole thing. I was so excited about building it that I didn't really think of taking pictures as I went along. I will show a pic of it with the tank off once I get it ready for it to go into place.

After testing the tank, I have moved it into position and started to set it up. The water is not up to the top because I will start the cycle off with my turtles temperarly to get the ball rolling.

First before the tank went in.
