All the wood was free actually! It's real cherry. A friend of my dad bought some land to build a house on and instead of buying wood to build his house he cleared the trees on his land and he had a lot of poplar and
Cherry left over so he let my dad have it... As far as staining it, yes I'm going to, not sure if I'm going to clear coat it or what but I'm going to round out the corners and the doors on the canopy. I'm also going to add doors to the bottom. And I'll post mor pics when I get home

I think a clear coat would look nice on it. Did you sand it down already, or is the unfinished wood? It's hard to tell with the lighting.

The side you can see we ran through a planer but I still want to take a router and round off the corners
