About 7 months ago I got a 6.5” motoro from my neighbor who was basically giving it away. My neighbor got it about a year before that but I’m not sure how big it was then. It eats really well but is still only about 8” as of now. It’s currently in a 7’ circular pool that is 12” deep. Id like to move her into a sandy bottomed 6’x2’x2‘ tank with some large silver dollars. At her current growth rate will that be tolerable for the next 7 months until I can upgrade to an 8’x3’x2’ tank? TIA.

Looks good to me. Would there be any benefit and/or disadvantage to me trying partial sand and partial smooth gravel (.7 : .3 or .6 : .4 ratios favoring same) with a divider in between them in the new tank?

Gravel works for me. I think it allows for more surface area for beneficial bacteria but it needs a good vacuuming every week or 2. Always wanted to do sand but it is problematic for filter intakes and scratching acrylic.

don't see an issue of it being in a 6x2x2 for another year

not sure how irritating the silver dollars will be during feeding though... my SDs keep snatching their food lol
