So I live in Texas and as many of you may know freshwater stingrays are illegal to own in this state.
So I'm just wondering if their are any brackish or even saltwater stingrays I could keep in an aquarium?
I know it's not illegal just wondering about my tank in particular, with it being a brackish environment and everything?
So I plan to convert my tank into a saltwater system as my monos grow and eventually upgrade to a 6 foot tank and add a couple fish but I'm just wanting to know if I could add a stingray to my brackish setup now? Do any species do well in brackish water?
I read Florida Rays do ok in fresh water but brackish is more preferable any knowledge of this? Are their any other species like these???

This is NOT my current setup just one I would love to have for the said fish. Again please respond if you have any knowledge about this topic!!!

Look into saltwater rays- Cortez and yellow spotted.

Can they handle brackish? My LFS has some Monos the same size as mine in a full on saltwater tank and they look perfect so I guess I could up the salt if needed. I just wasnt wanting to just yet, also can the rays you listed deal with brackish water at all?

I believe bluespotted have a dismal record in captivity. Full salt for the others.

If you look on Aquabid the Sabaes are being bred in captivity in pure fresh these days. I believe Wes was selling them a while back also. May still have some in stock.

That way you could do a shoal Mono Sabaes and freshwater rays. I almost bought some from wes myself but cant do it with my Armatus.
