Hello,

I just purchased a new reticulated stingray. It's a male, about 4" disc diameter. He arrived on Saturday morning and seems to be doing quite well. He began eating this morning (some blood worms). He has been quite active over the last couple days. I noticed yesterday and today, especially, he is spending a lot of his time on the glass. He is sticking to the glass several inches above the substrate (fine white CaribSea sand). I just wanted to know if this is something that I should be concerned about or if this is normal behavior. I'm quite excited about this little guy so any input on care or response to this would be much appreciated.

Ya he sounds fine
i noticed that smaller rays do that a lot
Mine did that intill he was 1
How big is your tank?
Do you have any air pumps because he may just be looking for oxygen.

My retic likes to do that at night when the lights are out and he thinks no one is watchcing. Also in the middle of the night he will swim to the top of the tank and start splashing to let me know he is hungry, but to me it sounds like he is jumping out

He is not gobbling the food down yet. I happen to know that the vendor I purchased him from had only had him in for a week before they shipped the ray to me.....the ray has been through a lot over the last couple weeks. He is eating the bloodworms lightly...not eating shrimp or anything else yet, but I just put an order in for some blackworms, which he was apparently feeding on well while the vendor had him.....that should hopefully turn things around....he was not doing the glass sticking thing this morning at all. Thanks for the feedback...I welcome any other input anyone has.
