Here is the latest we have, most exclusive, prestigious, notorious! Many items are only found at Rare Fish at this moment. So here comes the hot stepper!
1. Megalops cyprinoides- Indian Oxeye tarpon babies 3.5" long, super healthy-can reach 36 plus inches. Can be kept in fresh, salt or brackish, either or, all their lives, I can attest to that, witnessed it many times. $30.00 each
2. Scatophagus tetracanthus-Madagascar Scats-to my knowledge this fish has only been imported on a few very rare occasions in the past decade, I am not aware of any hobbyist having this fish in their possession at this time. Even in Japanese magazines I've only seen one or two photos of it in their ads. There are 2 different varieties of this fish, one with purple bands and one with solid black bands and yellow, the latter is what we have, which is much nicer! Not like most scats that are more fragile, these have been well acclimated to complete freshwater, they were found in complete freshwater, and I've kept one for 5 years in complete freshwater. This fish is very limited in quantity and exclusive. You can come to the store to see them, but most are sold already. The prcie is set at $130.00 each, they are 4.5" long, and 4" tall, they eat a variety of vegetables and everything else they can get. They get along fine with most large and small fish ( do not put with fly river turtles) Arowanas do just fine with them! $130.00 each
3. Siniperca chuatsi-1.5" the last shipment all succumbed to the inevitable. This batch, healthier, being medicated prophylactically. Eating great. I will replace all the dead ones from last shipment, just contact me and pay for shipping. These little MONSTERS are $15.00 each
4. Datnoid pulcher-True siamese datnoid, Japanese grade, perfect bars, brighth colors, email me direct for this item. Sizes range from 10", 11", and 12" Prices have yet to be set, due to shipping cost and shipping mortalities. Starting at $380.00 each. More pictures later.
Announcement!
Many more rare fish coming in next week. Satlwater/coral fans, we have a great selection of fish and rare corals too. In store for your viewing enjoyment, 17.5" freshwater bumbble bee grouper. The latest new I got from my supplier, some of these fish are actually caught in a river! And for all the nay sayers, some specimens have been kept alive for over 3 months in captivity already and still going strong, not a bit of color fade, or appetite decrease! There is actually another species of Epinephlus found in China and Japan that is almost pure freshwater, lives mostly in riverine areas, to be announced! Unfortunately, due to weather reasons, the small bumbble bee groupers are not accessible at this time!
