My jags growth is stunted to 4 1/2 inches....ive had him for 2 months shy of a year....and he is still the same size....im gettin rid of him unfortunately...and yeah arowanas seemed very appealing...but they are expensive and silver arowanas are too common id want something lil more colorful and darker

you could keep the jag and get a mate or go with a couple pair of JD or even flowerhorns or if your feeling lucky an arrowana. and you could have some polypteruses in there

I wouldn't recommend silver arrows they would get too big. Looks like a 6' tank though.
OP-do you want a community tank, breeding pair or single wet pet?

I like those pots too. I once saw a setup just like that with a colony of frontosa in it. I've never kept them so I'm not sure if they're cool or not, but the setup looked sweet.

Looks good for Africans imo. Frontosa colony would be really cool.

Do NOT put an arrow in here, there is no type of arrow that could live in here for life. Too small.

i do love frontosas..best looking african imo....imma look into it. how aggressive are they?

Frontosa are fairly aggressive but not incredibly so. They're not like most CA/SA in terms of aggression. But if you build a colony you have to account for the male/female ratio (a bunch of females and one male) or you will have fighting. They are definitely territorial.

I'd do a species-only tank or maybe throw in some other largeish-growing africans like dimidiochromis compressips (I mention them because I'm growing out a couple of albinos with my frontosa and they look awesome).

I only keep a lone front but he's a zaire blue and in terms of looks and personality is by FAR my favorite cichlid I've kept.
