Switched the 220 to red/natural gravel mix and fake bamboo plants, also have 4 Hydro V sponge filters stuffed in the space between the background and the acrylic. Still a work in progress:

New H. mala variants, starting a pack of different mala variants to go with my polypterus:
Most recent pick-up, was told from Brazil. Has very nice green eyes. 5-6"

Picked this one up a while back. I love the gold background color on this one. 9-10"

The last pic is old, of a giant Ecuador big head from ECZS, I need to get another, this guy wouldn't stay in the tank:

Big blue botia I picked up the other day, has to be 6"+

New black mask elong from ECZS, great serra, swims non-stop:

Love your mix of fish but to be honest that gravel does not work with your tank at all. You would have yourself an amazing tank if you got a more natural looking gravel or even sand. That background is awsome.

Didn't like the look of the natural gravel, so I took some out and mixed the rest with red. I like it, and don't mind if it doesn't look natural. I am not a fan of sand, every time I tried it I regretted it. I prefer bare-bottom, but fish will get behind the background.

nice looking fish i would do dark gravel

Yeah the background is 3D, I may do some more cutting soon.

The red gravel has also done wonders for the color of my polypterus (can't wait to see what it does for my Endis), brown would probably do the same, but the background "rock" is red. I don't like what black gravel does to the color of bichirs.

gorgeous wolfish

Thanks. I like how the different malas look, lots of variation in the "species". I wouldn't mind picking up a gold wolf either. I see you are looking for ery ery, great fish, here's mine:
