New style aquaclear 110 powerhead

Does anyone have 1 of these? I have had mine for less than 2 weeks and i cannot get it to stop making a grinding sound. I opened it up and there isnt any sand inside. The inside is pretty basic, all it has is a impellor/magnet i cleaned it all out and its still making this sound.

Take it back. It should be pretty quiet if it's working properly.

do you have the intake tube seated properly on the small black disk?

I would take the AC powerhead back and exchange it for the Hydor Koralia ones. They have more range of gph flowrates and alot of models to choose from. Very durable and simple to use and very quiet. I stopped using AC powerheads a long time ago because so many better and cheaper powerhead makes out there.

I chose the ac due to the filter attachment. Yes, everything is attached and seated properly.

short of something in the impeller theres a good chance that there is a small hole/crack in the intake tube.. it happens durring shipping.. not a huge deal.. you can either take it back and exchange it or just put a bit of silicone along the seams and let it dry then give it a run... the small crack allows the sube to suck air and in turn make noise..
