Yo guys.

I was starring at my aquarium and came to the conclusion.. The gravel/subsrate look Awful! It basically make my piranha look invisible, due to the gravel being almost the same color as my piranha.

So i am going to replace it with something else but..

What should i use instead? What brings out the color of my piranha ?

And what lighting color should i use for the same ?

Sand every time! Especially with those pieces of wood, will make for a nice little bioscape for your piranha. Lighting I'm not so sure, I used a blue moonlight on mine for a while, nothing's too bright though - they're eyes can't control how much light is let in so if it's too powerful it's almost like torture.

Finally done!
So i removed the gravel, and replaced it with fine sand, and it was easier than i through, the sand wasn't as dirty as people say, and the cloud doesn't seem bad.

It is still a little cloudy, i hope it settles in a few hours.
These pictures were taken 30 after i put the sand in.

I'd recommend getting a 6500k spectrum light so you get a slightly pinkish tinge, and that will also allow you to grow some simple plants for cover. I'd recommend Java fern and anubias and maybe even some mossballs or something.

Thanks for the replies (=

The sand have already settled, and it looks awesome! The sand obviously bring out the color on my piranha. The red color is more clear now, and he is more visible in the substrate.

However he ****s a lot and you can see it on the sand )-:
