nice! Snyps and Melanurus are considered the same species now even know some say they are as different and night and day. Those do in fact look like Snyps.
Mine are generally peaceful, other than some sparring between males and sometimes pairs. I have 3 large pairs (M ~ 12", F ~ 9") sharing a 180g with a number of other Vieja and Paratheraps and rarely do I see a missing scale or split fin. Maybe I have the "mix" just right. Here's a couple of males "going at it"
I also have 'melanurum' and IMO there is little similarity in coloration (orange and blue), body shape (more elongated), attitude (agressive!!!) to my 'synspilum'. The differences are much greater than between 'synspilum and several other Paratheraps or Vieja. To me, it's much more difference than can be accounted for by location or geographic factors.
