I recently found this tank and stand on the side of the road for free. It is 18.5”L x20”Wx31”Tall, coming out to around 50 gallons. I am debating about doing fish or some other kind of creature, like an arboreal tarantula, tree frogs, the sorts.

If I did do fish I picture white sand with jungle val or other plants like that to go with the height. Im not sure what fish like tall tanks, though I assume community is always an option. I do know that angelfish like tall tanks, but idk if angelfish would fit in mine. So my question, what fish like tall tanks?

Angel fish do I’m pretty sure, you can probably fit a few but they are aggressive so not too many
Before getting too excited I would check if it holds water

No, the length is not enough. The width and height are fine but the length makes it bit possible.

This tank would make a fine side sump for a larger tank. Unfortunately not much to be done fish wise imo. If i had it and wanted to use it i would make a betta tank out of it or otherwise small tropical fish like corydoras, tetras, rasboras. If you like reptiles/amphibians it could make a fine enclosure for smaller climbing lizards and frogs as well.

Don’t try to multitask yall, it should have said “not possible”, not “bit possible”.

It could also be used for isopods, there are several beautiful species.

Do you think you could send pictures?

Seems community is my only option fish-wise.

I am considering doing an arboreal tarantula tank, have my eye on the Gooty Sapphire Taranantula pictured below. It is easy to take care of, and a super intresting species. They are endemic to 39 sq Miles of forest in India.

Amazing Nature - It is a Poecilotheria Metallica, also known as the Gooty Sapphire Ornamental Tarantula. beautiful! | Facebook

Whites tree frogs are another option.

I think I’m either going to get one of Tarantula’s above or scrap it and get some species of African Rain Frog. Rain Frogs are quite unique, and I’d only see them during feeding once a week, but they’re super easy and super cute!
