I'm getting ready to set up my first Tanganikan tank in a long while, 6 years! I have a 120 gallon reef tank and i want to stock it with 11 Petrochromis Ephippium and some Eremodus Cyanastictus (goby). Does anyone have any experience with either of these fish? I'm kind of excited about trying something different so I'd like feedback from you guys. Thanks.

don't have any experience with those two specifically, but i do have a spathodus, very similar from what i can tell to the eretmodus, and i can tell you it is an awesome fish, loads of personality, very unique looking, probably one of my favorites of all time. i also have a pretty cool tropheus, and although they look similar to the petrochromis i have a feeling tropheus are probably a little more aggressive. in any case, with a large number of them you should have no troubles. i have found tanganyikans in general to be very hardy, and you will absolutely have to post pics when you have everything up and running. sorry i'm not more helpful, but i think your idea is for a tank that size is awesome. you will not be disappointed

here is a short post i did on gobies. my wife wants some for her tank but i cant find them in memphis

I'm excited! I'll be getting my fish in about a week. I wanted something different so thats why I'm going with this particular Petrochromis and the Eremodus Cyanastictus will be something extra for the tank. I've heard that Gobies aren't tollerant of each other so I'll just have to see how it goes. Hopefully in a larger tank they will find lots of hiding spaces or at least be able to get away from each other. Whats a good spirulina based food to use?

even if they are not tolerant with eachother, with the amount you'll be keeping i would think that the aggression would be displaced enough to not be a problem, particularly in a tank as large as you're dealing with

Well I'm getting 11 Petrochromis Ephippium, 10 Tropheus Moori Kiku and a pair of the Eremodus Cyanastictus. i should have them within the week. I'm really excited about this set up and hope it works out. I should have pictures posted soon.
