I already have a 65 Mbuna tank and recently picked up another 65 Gallon for cheap and just wanted to double check with MFK for any advice or critiquing. I'm just putting an Oscar in there, that's it, always wanted one.

65 Gallon - Cycled already (Swaped some media from my established 2217)
Pool Filter Sand, some round rock and fake plants
Eheim 2217
Basic heating + lights with extra suction cups, digital external thermometer - I hear O's like breaking them lol.
pH 7.4, gH 6.7 (matches tap water - no buffers)

And made some last minute purchases
- Aquaclear 70 (300) - just for extra filtration. I would have bought a 110 but I don't want to move the tank out that far.
- Some NLS Large Fish Formula and Hikari BioGold +
- Already have a freezer full of treats and make some of my own.

And finally rescuing an Oscar, should have him within the next week.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

got any pics?

Scape, I've got some rounded rocks and some other really nice rocks stacked up, kind of like a terrace with sand on them, it's actually some of the better rock work I've done and provides a few caves which a new, smaller oscar might like at first. Besides that I've got a lot of plastic plants, but they're pretty good quality and look nice. I could get A LOT of drift wood, I mean loads, my folks live on a lake and have it all over the place.
Though I read that it would lower the pH and alter the chemistry? With Oscars you have to do large water changes in smaller tanks, so wouldn't the new water (higher pH) cause fluctuations at first? I'd rather just provide stable parameters.
Perhaps the driftwood would be better left for a different project/aquarium.

Unfortunately no pics atm, camera battery is dead and I haven't charged it in ages, I'll get some up in the next week or so when I get my Oscar

Ah thanks, wasn't aware of that, not a problem though and yeah doesn't the AC110 require 6+ inches behind the tank? I really don't want it sticking out that far :\
