Hello all I am looking to buy my first tank and I need a little advice. I have been looking at this forum and other sites across the net and I think I have a general plan on what I want.

I am looking at a 75 gal tank. I would like to have one descent size aggressive cichlid with big teeth. I want to have to tell people don't stick your hand in there or you might get hurt lol ! I was looking at the female red terror, red devil, black nasty, one of the small guapote's such as the Motaguence. Or maybe a grammode. Some thing along those lines.

Also what kind of filter should I use. Xp3? Eheim 2217? What about dither fish should I use some. I was thinking about black moonsand substrate with a few pieces of drift wood. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

a black nasty would be cool... I'm not sure how big they get; I heard 16 inches. A 75 might be a little small for one that big. A red devil/midas is an obvious choice. A female festae would look amazing, although they grow very slow, from what I've heard.
a mota, freddy, or female jag would also work. An oscar would also be fine, although they aren't aggressive and don't look very scary.

for the filter, either of those is fine. A sump would be nice, if you can get one. A canister/HOB combo would be great, if you can't do the sump.
