New tank advice

I have a 55gal setup, and I'm working on converting it to a flowerhorn tank. If I put in a divider, is that enough room for 2 or should I keep just 1? What kind of flowerhorns do you recommend? I can spend up to $300.

you can barely fit one male in a 55... if you stick w/ the 55, go w/ a female (don't think thats the direction you're intending on going tho)... upgrade to a 75+

Yup 55 is too small for a grown male of certain strains. I have 1 in a 55 right now but he is only 5 inches maybe. 2 will definately not work well.

a divided tank will hold 2 for a few month, after that as stated above, one has gotta go. sooner or later the 55 will be to small for the keeper unless it is a short body or a runt.

actually if you want advice, i would sell your 55 and get a used 75 or 100G with Blue or clear background on craigslist.

reserve $150 for a flowerhorn of your choice. that should be plenty of $$ to get a really nice looking flowehorn (my pics would be an SRT or a KML)

Would a 75 tall be ok, or would I be better off with a rectangular tank?

Something at least 18" wide would work.
