Here is a update on my new 135 and Design By Nature background.
Will start on background install on 6/7/12 Sand is cleaned, rocks have been purchased from local stone company, also purchased some rock from DBN.
Nice!! The Chimba is a great looking background. Seeing these 3D background threads makes that much more excited to set up my tanks when I'm finished moving
I have the same style/color BG from DBN in a 20 long. It looks great, I think that was a great choice for Africans. You nervous about the install? What are your braces like?
First time you snap those BGs it makes your pants tingle.
I have one large brace in the center of tank. I am very nervous about cutting the back and poping it like a piece of sheet rocK. That is what Matt ay DBN said to do. Any help you can give me would be appreicated. That is one big background I have to work with. The instructions were short on installing it.
Thanks.
There's a good sticky in the setup section. Basically, measure the openings in the tank and then cut the background down accordingly. You will cut it like Matt said... Pop it after cutting through most of the back. Then just silicone them in with GE1 clear. Make sure you measure the inside length and height of the tank, sometimes (usually?) a 72 x whatever height" tank is not exactly that on the inside--you don't want to over cut or under cut, and under cutting would be better until you're 100% positive.
Also, don't mess around with them too much once you cut them, the more you do, the more they will rub off and chip and they won't fit back together as well.
About installing the equipment..... This is my creative idea that i did to my 300gal.......
If u look really close u will see how i installed the equipment.....
