second that... i have 2 motoro and they are outgrowing my 5ft by 2.5ft by 2ft tank... i will recommed a width of at least 2.5ftAt the min 24" more towards 36" as most rays get to be 24" plus in size. 72" for your lenght too. Give the Rays some room
For a scobina or histrix if you can find them, a standard 180 would be fine for life. A retic would be fine in one as well but only if it doesn't have a full tail. If it does you will want to go wider, like at least 30in.
If by chance you do end up with a motoro or something a tank of 4' wide would be optimal, but they would probably do fine in a 3' wide tank.

if you buy any ray at 5" disc, an 18"wide will be ok for roughly 1-1.5 years. So count on upgrading them if you already have an 18"
