im thinking of building a tank (garf.com) outta plywood and glass.

i want a tigrinus (sp?) catfish. what size tank (dimensions) should i build. i was thinking 50"x 24"x 18" (L x W x H)

also whats the best substrate? i wanted black gravel or black sand, wich is better?

gravel, alot easier to clean

make it an 8 footer......and i'd suggest gravel

I would suggest 96" x 36" x 24" if you have the room. A tigrinus would have plenty of room to turn around with the 36" width and the 8' would give it a little room to swim before being forced to turn around.

i had it planned out earlier today and i measured and it happens i have room for 96 x40 x24 (L xW xH) 399 gallons.

i was thinkin for fish

tigrinus cat

2 black aros

my oscar

1 longnose gar

1 turushuki catfish

If you want to avoid the green tint, go acrylic. Plus at that size, acrylic will save you a ton of weight.

and money..lol, its only $260 for the acrylic i need and $500 for the glass i would need. doesnt make sence...but oh well
