So it's been a while since I've posted here. I ended up selling the 150Gal and settled for a 90 gal long take. I purchased the whole deal 30 gal sump with bio balls, an ehiem pro canister filter a skimmer which doesn't have a name and WILL be upgrading. water, 40lbs live rock and 30 lbs live sand, 2 black/white striped damsels, 1 blue damsel, maroon clown, and a twin spot hogfish.

we moved the thing three miles (wich i never want to move that much water ever again) and got the tank in its current living place. I gave it a nice elbow-greese cleaning with a razor and brush. got the water back in, floated the fish for about 20-30 minutes and let the baby run. In the middle of the night the canister filter starting making a 'clank' noise, i assumed this was because it did not have water in it. i opened it up and filled it back up, no problem as of now but should i worry about this in the future? also, the water is cloudy and the guy i bought it from just did a water change two days ago. Should i be worried about the cloudy water or is it just from the moving and cleaning?

The filter could have stopped because of a poor prime (too much air in the canister and it couldn't purge it) it may never happen again, if it does I would see if there is anything that could be introducing air into the canister like a air stone directly under intake or if the intake is too close to the surface.

As far as the cloudyness it is probably just fine particulate kicked up from the substrate being moved around it should completely settle in a couple of days at worst. Another thing it could be is that the system was left dry long enough that a cycle is taking place and your seeing a bacterial bloom, if so the only thing you can do is monitor water parameters and do water changes accordingly.
