posted a few pictures of my new tank up and running from april,i will try and get some better quality pics soon.tank is 1800 uk gals with 400gal filter system,bout 11000 liters.tank is a u shape when seen from above,made from blocks on there flat with cast concrete pillars,lintels with rebar right around top edge of tank.after rendering, tank was lined with 2 layers of glassfiber and polyester resin and topcoat.tank is 4feet deep,windows are just under 3 feet deep dropping a foot to the floor.the filter system is next door,consisting of 2 x200gal tanks,these are fed by two 4" diameter airlifts with pressure chambers,50lpm air to each pumping 6000gals an hour each.first filter has filter wool in half of tank with 200ltrs static bio filter media and hundreds of pot scrubbers in other half. i moulded glassfiber double tank connectors and spacer for the 6" return pipes.the second filter has fluidised k1. theres also another 6000gph airlift at the other end of the tank mainly for circulation reasons..the fish room has its own boiler heating rads with one thermostat,coiled stainless steel pipe in filter with another thermostat.tank has been running great without any major problems so far.inhabitants are 2xrtc,2xrtcxtsn,2xmarble,and giraffe cats all 18"-26" long.theres also 3rb pacus,ripsaw cat red fin giant gouramy cigar barbs,silver arowana and various sa ca cichlids.
