in about a weeks time i will be getting my angelfish out of their tempoary 30 gallon home because their old 4 ft home got a big crack in it:(

so im just wondering if the angel fish would like a sword planted tank, like anubius, encryptus and some java fern. im mainly going for the low planted great looking tank with happy angel fish.

any advice is greatly appreciated thanks :grinno:

Yeah, but be warned that a planted tank is a whole other can of worms, and will no doubt complicate maintenance. I got a crazy idea once that I wanted to plant my 240 gal. discus tank. It was so called "low tech" as well. After about 6 months of all the work of caring for both plants and discus in a large tank, I tore it down and removed all traces of "planted tank". Looked nice, but a real P. I. A., and would never do it again.

yeah i had a heavily planted tank not to long ago until i went to large cichlids, but now im back into calm peaceful fish.............. and

I GOT THE TANK TODAY :D !

thankyou and i will post some pictures in a few weeks as a journal, atm its just bare bottom and cycling with some other already used filters straight from another tank. From what i've researched this will give it the benificial bacteria to cycle the tank, am i correct?

It should, as long as you have fish in the tank, or some other source of ammonia to feed the bacteria.
