Our son Clifford is seven months old and has started sleeping in his own room (sometimes...). That means it's time for his first tank! :D

I've had this 15 gallon hex for about twelve years, but I only had it full for a couple. I decided it would make a nice first tank for Clifford. I had a piece of glass cut for the top of the dresser and set the tank up. I cut a hole in the back of the cabinet section and put a fiberglas drip tray in the bottom.

The filter is an Eheim 2213 with an Eheim prefilter added. The heater is a Thermal Compact 100W.

Now I just need to figure out what to put in it after it is done cycling...

7 month delayed congrats Dan! 15 gallons with an Eheim lol... Small kids love bright colors, go for some swordtails. I kept various kinds my 7 year olds tank from age 1 on. They will keep Clifford entertained and all the fry will make good feeders for "papa's" fish. ;) Just a thought.

Old school-I like it. Both my Boys have had tanks from a young ege...one has a Blue Lobster and the other a Razorback Musk turtle. The tanks hardly take any time to clean and its a great excuse for me to keep something else!

Thanks, we are just now getting used to the little guy.

I went with the Eheim mostly because I wanted it quiet, but the relatively huge media capacity and the prefilter module should make the tank very low-maintenance.

Some Swordtails is a good idea, I definitely have a use for any extra fish. :naughty:
