New tank lighting obsession

I was in a LFS in Clifton NJ and I noticed a tank they store their live rock in...it was dimly lit from a pendant light suspended from about 24" above the water surface....I fell in love with it so I shrunk all my lighting on my tanks and suspended them in the air...I'm going for that underwater cave look...

it is a nice effect. I run all my tanks dim. when I turn the lights on at all. bright lights in a tank create a mirror effect for them and can not see out. as I like larger sa cichlids like them use to me and house hold and get along about there day to day routine and habits as they would in the wild and not spooked.

I got the new aqueon optibrite on my other tank...I just got the 18" one for my 125 and it gives the same effect...looks great and it has very bright LEDs and a separate switch for the lunars that happen to be very bright...can't beat the shimmer effect...I no longer use my T5's
