So I picked up a "craigslist special" 55g tank this weekend and I wondered why it was so freaking heavy. Turns out it's an older tank with that thick glass so it doesn't have a center brace.

I'm fairly new to the hobby, this past Easter marked my 1 year into the hobby and my other 55's are all newer/thinner glass tanks that have the center brace.

So my question is, how do I go about getting a light fixture for this tank? I've heard about a DIY light setup that involved it hanging from the ceiling - I rent so this isn't possible.

I was thinking of buying a Coralife light fixture but if possible I would prefer not to spend $150+ on a non-planted tank.

Any thoughts/advice on anything else that would work?

Here is the light that i use. It has extendable legs that come out the side (make it a little longer so it will set on the sides of the tank) so it would work on your tank with no center brace. It only costs $64 plus shipping so the price is hard to beat. I actually use these lights on all of my tanks.
