I will be going off to college next year and the biggest aquarium they let you have is 40gal. Because Im taking down my reef, and my MONSTER tanks, Im looking to do something...smaller...but sweet. Any idea if I could put two or three dats into a 40? Way to small? I dont know anything about these fish.

That would be too small. Dats are said to grow slow but I think that would be a little small.. Try some dwarf cichlids. I go to school in Duluth by Superior wisconsin and I have some dwarfs.. Where are you going to college?
I am going to one of three: UW Stevens Point, UW Green Bay, or UW Milwaukee for either one, possibly as many as two years before transfering to Hawaii. Plan on studying Water Resource Management, Aquaculture, or Icthyology, specifically the chondricthyes. (Boneless fishes, sharks, skates, rays...)

When i was in college i had a 40 gal heavily stocked with dwarf cichlids. Had awesome movement and since i had alot of extra time, i was able to do 2 water changes a week keeping things in check.
Ive done the cichild thing so many times though... even breeding for sales. So.. Im kinda looking for something new. I will deffinitely check you out. You would have been able to visit my petstore except for the fact that Petco put it out of biz... A guy that worked under me when I was 14, is now the marine specialist there... they wont hire me because they have enough fish specialists the way it is... w/e their loss. So if you ever come to stevens point, and see divepoint scuba... drop in.
I made two of the same thread? I know that I have a lot of similar threads out there. Im kinda letting every sub-forum fight over the right of what will be in that tank. Because Im pretty experienced I want it to be pretty rare and cool fish I have going in there... So Im just looking around at a little bit of everything. Honestly right now its looking like it might end up being a puffer.
