So I'm planning on getting a 75 or a 125 gallon tank next week... and I really have no idea on what fish to stock it with.

What do you think would be the most enjoyable fish that I could have in there?

I was thinking one oscar, but please help me decide! :)

Well I would go for the 125 for sure. Bigger is always better, plus if you get the 75 you will probably have wished you got the 125 later.

I'll go for the 125. :)

BTW, is there any way to edit your own post?

A lot of discus are captive-bred. If you can find some local breeders in your area, they should be your best bet as it is very likely they are using the same tapwater as you do. If not, try the Lake Tanganyikan shelldwellers, calvus, julies, lemon cichlids and rainbow cichlids.

I do have a pet shop 1 minute away from me and they have tons of discus!! I'll ask them if they use tap water, thanks!

Does that mean they will be okay/happy with my 7.5+ tap water?

But... I can't edit my posts... It says "Rules - You may not edit posts"

oh you need to post more times and become a full member before you get the editing option i believe... 5 posts lol so close!

What are you looking for?

Do you want the bright colors like discus and cichlids?
Do you want oddballls/rare. Like a ripsaw cat
Do you want schooling fish like Clown loaches?
Do you want a single specimen tank like a rhom?

You need to help us to help yo what are you into?

I agree with the Tang. cichlids. They would love the high pH and in that size tank you could do a variety of small-medium species. Discus would be cool too. You could do a nice Amazonian planted setup with discus, some dwarf cichlids, cories, and tetras

He said he was interested in an Oscar tank. Oscars are cool, so are Jaguars!
