This is a 60g tall. I have been trying to decide what to do with it since I moved the tilapia out into a 275g tote the shop.
I was going to make it a huge guppy tank….. Boooooring!

There were a gazillion snails in it still after removing the tilapia and doing a 99% water change.
Well, I put SIX small Black Bullhead Catfish in there. The snail population is being depleted FAST! I guess catfish eat snails?
The cats are only about 3 inches long. I caught them last summer in my pond when they were spawning. They wintered outside in a small aboveground swimming pool.

Scaping:
I am going to cut a large weathered log I picked up on the side of the road last year, or the year before, time flies!
I will put it along the back going from lower left corner, to upper right. The log is HUGE! I may not be useable, but it looks so cool.

Substrate:
I will just be using a bucket driveway rocks I have. They were bought from Walmart in the Garden section years ago. I had them in a tank a long time ago. I can't even remember the tank, but I have 5 gallons of dirty rocks.

Plants:
I want some kind of plants in the tank, but I am afraid the cats will uproot them. I could glue amazon swords, anubias, or other similar plants that do not do well planted. The plants will be free for me, I can just harvest them from my planted tank. It is getting over grown anyway.

Filtration:
The tank will be over stocked, so I will have to change water often, but the cats can live in tough water conditions and thrive. I am just going to use a big HOB and maybe a couple sponge filer.

I plan to journal this tank I guess. I am posting here, now to get feedback. Feedback always help be to hammer out what I do before I start and sometime not do things that are stupid ideas.

Bullheads are hiders, so I am not sure it will be an interesting tank. I will try to train them to be fed when the light comes on. We shall see.

I really wanted brown spotted bullhead catfish, but after 2 years of trying to get some, I have not been able to get any.
I was on the waiting list with one fish stocker for over a year, but finally gave up and got my money back.
I even took a week long vacation with the wife in our Camper Van to the areas of Florida where they are and could not catch any.
So, I will use Black Bullhead Cats. They get a lot bigger.

I got this tank off the side of the road and resealed it. With stand! Road Warrior Find!
