I'll be setting up an 80g this weekend and I have had the filter running on my other tank for about 2-3 months bc my previous tank busted:( So would my tank be instantly cycled with the filter? The only stock going into the new tank is one ten inch fish that gets fed once to twice a week.

yup, should be fine. tho need to ask, what is the filter?

If that was me and I needed to get the fish in the new tank ASAP I would use prime for safe measure and continue checking water parameters. In theory you should be fine, but just to be safe and I wouldn't assume your new tank is cycled regardless what anyone said.

DN i do not denie this, and yes always test the water with a new setup, I asked for filter size be cause if its just a AC70 its not going to work.

I don't need to move him asap. And I do plan on using prime and stability for safe measures. I also have the api master kit so if anything goes outta wack I could place him back into the previous tank.

AC110 should do the job if cycled but I would look to getting a canister down the road. and as stated test your water.

Sounds like good plan then.
